I put together this collection of Law of Attraction quotes for the purpose of taking your understanding of this powerful universal principle to the next level.
Fifteen years ago, the movie The Secret created a phenomenon that resonated throughout the world, and since then, the phrase “Law of Attraction” has become embedded in the very fabric of our spiritual pop culture. And yet – as the powerful statements you’re about to read will attest – the Law of Attraction is far from new. In fact, this universal law has been written about and passed down by countless teachers and wisdom traditions throughout the ages.
When Buddha made the observation that “As a man thinketh, so he becomes,” he was conveying the essence of this powerful law. Even the Golden Rule, which advises us to “Do unto others as we would have others do unto us” is a testament to the basic understanding that what we send out – energetically and vibrationally into the Universe – eventually returns to us in the quality of our life experiences.
The Law of Attraction arises from the understanding that because the universe we live in is energetically based, whatever energy we generate from within is joined by (or attracted to) energies that are of an equal frequency, resonance, or vibration. The state of everything in our external world – that of our bodies, our relationships, our finances and beyond – is a direct reflection of our internal state.
In the simplest terms, the Law of Attraction is merely the principle that “Like attracts like.” This law is universal, meaning it works for everyone, all the time, whether we are aware of it or not. And just like the law of gravity, once we understand how it works, we can stop fighting against it and start using it to our benefit.
What follows are some of my all-time favorite Law of Attraction quotes – and I’ve added another layer of depth and expansion to each one. The Law of Attraction is universal, meaning it works for everyone, all the time, whether we are aware of it or not. But, by becoming conscious of the ways that this universal force is already acting upon your life, you can harness it deliberately, and that’s when things start to get really fun.
Enjoy!
“Thoughts become things. If you see it in your mind, you will hold it in your hand.”
-Bob Proctor
Imagination is the mechanism that summons creative energy. By engaging our imagination, we are establishing a powerful relationship with one of two possible outcomes: the one we desire, or the one we dread.
Realizing this gives us the incentive to begin using our imagination for the purpose it was intended: to get the most delight out of the present moment while summoning more of all that we desire into our future experience.
“The more limited, the more narrowly egoic your view of yourself is, the more you will see, focus on, and react to the egoic limitations and the unconsciousness in others. Their “faults” or what you perceive as their faults become to you their identity. This means you will see only the ego in them and thus strengthen the ego in yourself.”
– Eckhart Tolle
The Law of Attraction is founded on the simple principle that what we focus on expands. If you experiment with this principle in your own life, you’ll quickly realize that you tend to find evidence for whatever it is you expect to see.
If there is some aspect of another person or situation that is offputting or offensive to you, all you need to do to call forth a different experience is to stop focusing on it. Eventually, the Universe will stop delivering those aspects to you.
“Let excellence be your brand…. When you are excellent, you become unforgettable. Doing the right thing, even when nobody knows you’re doing the right thing, will always bring the right thing to you.”
-Oprah Winfrey
The Universe is responding to us in every moment that we are consciously engaged within it. But far more powerful than the words or actions we offer is the intention that we hold in the privacy of our own hearts and minds.
When your intent is to bring forth the very best version of yourself in any given situation, you will call forth from the Universe the very best that life has to offer.
“Anytime we are looking outside ourselves for an experience that can only be generated from within – such as approval, recognition, acceptance or love – we are coming from a mindset of lack.”
– Christy Whitman
Most of us were raised in a culture that advocates what I call an “outside-in” approach to happiness… Once we attain the job, attract the life partner, earn a certain amount of money, reach the ideal weight, etc., etc., then we’ll be happy.
What almost no one understands is that happiness – along with love, fulfillment, joy, and every other good-feeling emotions – are vibrational states of being that can only be attained from within.
When we start making this inner state of happiness our goal, outer circumstances and events will morph to reflect our internal state of being.
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”
– Albert Einstein
Focusing on an area of your life in which you would like to make a positive change can be good – IF you can focus in a way that does not increase your own internal resistance.
A lot of people use affirmations, such as “money flows easily to me,” in an attempt to engage their imagination to bring them more of what they desire. But we have to understand that the subconscious mind does not communicate with words, but through the language of images and feelings.
To use your imagination not only to preview but to create, the life you desire, focus your thoughts and your feelings into the reality that you desire to bring about.
“You’ve been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.”
-Louise Hay
Those of us who have been studying Law of Attraction for some time are often much harder on ourselves than those who chalk life up to luck or fate.
When we haven’t yet manifested the outcomes that we desire, we conclude that it must be because something is wrong with us, or is the result of some failure on our part.
Once you understand that the Universe is not responding to what you do, but is reflecting back to you in each unfolding moment the way you feel about yourself at the very core of your being, you will discover the true importance of self-love.
“Most people are thinking about what they don’t want, and wondering why it shows up over and over again.”
-John Assaraf
Unfortunately, focusing on what we don’t want is often the way that most of us were conditioned to relate to the world.
The general idea is that if we can push hard enough against unwanted situations, we’ll keep them from playing our in our lives.
In reality, the Universe works in reverse of this. What we place our attention on, we breathe life and energy into.
Becoming a deliberate creator is more about unlearning our early conditioning than anything else.
“Worrying is using your imagination to create something you don’t want.”
–Esther Hicks
The ability to imagine is one of our most powerful creative resources. To use the Law of Attraction to your benefit rather than to your detriment, simply direct your imagination toward animating and bringing delight to your desires, rather than using it to indulge your fears.
“The Law of Attraction doesn’t turn off and on, like a light switch. It’s not subject to fate or fancy. It is a powerful but neutral force that is constantly operational.”
-Joe Vitale
Like the law of gravity, the Law of Attraction is always consistent.
It is based on the observation that energies that are alike are drawn together, which means that whatever vibration we are offering, the Universe will match that frequency and cause it to become more.
This is really good news, because it puts the quality of our lives, and the tone of every relationship and interaction, squarely within our own hands.
“Your whole life is a manifestation of the thoughts that go on in your head.”
-Lisa Nichols
Perception creates reality. If you perceive the world as hostile, you’ll find plenty of evidence to support that claim. And if you look for the ways in which life is benevolent, that will be the reality you create.
“I attract to my life whatever I give my attention, energy and focus to, whether positive or negative.”
-Michael Losier
There is nothing about this universe – or anyone or anything in it – that is neutral. Everything responds to the vibration that you are offering in relation to it.
If you want to attract the best from everyone you interact with, focus on their positive aspects and watch them flourish in the presence of your attention.
“Any time Life presents us with an experience that is other than the experience we want, we are faced with a fundamental choice: We can focus on and complain about all that appears to be falling apart, or we can use that contrast to clarify exactly what we want to rebuild in its place.”
-Christy Whitman
The only time we ever pronounce an experience as unwanted is when a situation has evoked within us a powerful awareness about we desire and what is most important to us. And in the same way, we would not know light if it were not for darkness, contrasting experiences are essential to our continual expansion.
When you focus on the clarity that any unwanted experience has brought you, you begin cooperating with your own inevitable expansion, rather than opposing it.
“The more you ponder the impossibility of having your desires show up, complain about life’s unfairness, and get upset about what continues to manifest, the more those things define your reality. That’s because whatever you focus on invariably shows up in your life – be it what you want or don’t want.”
– Wayne Dyer
It is a completely understandable human tendency to get upset when things are not going our way.
After all, joy is our very nature, and any departure from that frequency is painful. But because speaking about troubling things only compounds them and causes them to become more, we would do ourselves the greatest favor by learning to focus on things that are joyful, even in the midst of upsetting circumstances.
“We are all self-made, but only the successful will admit it.”
– Earl Nightingale
The knowledge that we create our own reality is enlivening when things are going well, and devastating when things are not. And yet, in either case, at least we are accepting responsibility for our own inherent power to create.
Acknowledging that we have created the circumstances we find ourselves in puts us back in the driver’s seat – and from that place of empowerment, we can go anywhere we desire.
“There’s a redemptive power that making a choice has rather than feeling like you’re an effect to all the things that are happening. Make a choice. Just decide what it’s gonna be, who you’re gonna be, how you are going to do it. Just decide. And from that point, the universe will get out of your way.”
-Will Smith
At some point in our lives, we begin to ask ourselves, Who and what am I living this life for? Am I living for the approval of others? Am I looking to conform or fit in? Am I waiting for permission to be who I want to be?
The more of our power we give away to external factors we cannot control, the more of this precious life we squander. Instead of waiting for someone else’s permission, simply decide what you want and begin moving toward it.
The universe rewards both clarity and boldness.
“Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right.”
– Henry Ford
When you think a thought often enough, it hardens into a belief.
eliefs color our perception of “reality” by filtering the millions of possible outcomes that are unfolding around us and draw our attention only to those which we already think we can attain.
When we bring our beliefs into alignment with our desires, we view every person, circumstance and opportunity as an ally.
“No matter what the situation, remind yourself, ‘I have a choice.’”
-Deepak Chopra
Whenever contrast makes us aware of an unwanted situation that we feel powerless to change, the most important thing we can do is to remind ourselves that the one thing we always, always have the power to choose is the way we feel about any given situation.
And because we have the power to choose our feelings and to consciously direct our internal responses, we also have the power to change any external outcome that we desire.
“Whatever you’re thinking about is literally like planning a future event. When you’re worrying, you are planning. When you are appreciating, you are planning… What are you planning?”
-Abraham-Hicks
An important distinction that many people misunderstand is that the Law of Attraction does not necessarily bring you what you WANT.
It brings you – in the form of the people, circumstances, experiences and events you magnetize around you – that which is a vibrational match to who and what you are choosing to be in any moment in time.
It’s far less important that you spend time each day visualizing your desired future, and far more beneficial to have a loose intention each day to feel the very best that you can.
“So-called “negative” emotions – like intolerance, anger, dissatisfaction, and indignation – when channeled properly, actively accelerate our evolution and incite us into action.”
-Christy Whitman
Those of us who desire to live in harmony with the powerful laws of the Universe often have a habit of being very hard on ourselves any time we catch ourselves in a negative thought or are experiencing a low-frequency emotion.
But it’s important to understand that negative feelings are neither a punishment nor an indictment of our lack of prowess as deliberate creators.
They arise to let us know that there is an easier path to what we desire than the one we are currently allowing ourselves to see.
“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.”
-Oprah Winfrey
Appreciation is defined as “an increase in the value of an asset over time.”
The fastest way to allow into your life more of what you desire—both in the form of the feeling essence that you’re really after, and in terms of the material possessions that you believe will deliver that feeling—is to go out of your way to appreciate what you already have. In other words, what you appreciate, appreciates, and becomes more.
“Money comes from prosperity. Prosperity is a feeling of having it all, of being in the flow. This feeling attracts corresponding situations and opportunities. And this is eventually experienced physically as money and wealth. Prosperity is an inside job. Success is the person you become, not a point you chase after.”
– David Cameron Gikandi
Your experience of money is a reflection of the energetic signal about it that you are sending out.
You may not be able to instantaneously change the balance in your bank account, but you have, in this and in every moment in time, the power to shift your energy around money from one of fear or frustration to one of greater prosperity.
When prosperity, not scarcity, is the primary signal you are sending out to the Universe, prosperity in all forms will reveal itself to you.
“Am I acting from my healed place or from my wounded place? Which aspect of my being am I bringing forward in this moment?”
– Marianne Williamson
And the deeper question is, how can you shift your point of attraction when you realize that you’re acting from the “wounded place” within you?
The answer is not to push forward with greater force or effort, because that will only increase the internal resistance. Instead, take a break from what you are doing.
Do your best to practice appreciation for the present moment as it is. And above all else, give yourself compassion.
Getting into a state of allowing is what makes shifts in perspective – and therefore in consciousness – possible.
“As far as I can tell, it’s just about letting the Universe know what you want and then working toward it while letting go of how it comes to pass.”
-Jim Carrey
We need to understand that the universe holds a bird’s eye view of our lives and is more capable than we are of managing all the pieces of the puzzle that make up our ideal and perfect whole.
When we surrender our need to figure out how, who, what, when and where it will happen, and place our attention instead on simply aligning ourselves in heart and mind to the essence of our desire, the universe will make it happen for us.
“We all have thousands of possible future selves – any one of which can be brought to life through the power of our focus.”
-Christy Whitman
What most don’t realize is that there are actually thousands of possible future selves that we could manifest in each and every moment in time.
You could, if you wanted to, manifest a future version of yourself that would depress you when it comes into being.
Or you could call into being a future for yourself that is awesome beyond anything you’ve ever imagined. You are the one who gets to decide which possibility you are going to invest your energy into. Whichever possibility is the most nourished by your energy and attention is the one that will manifest in your life.
“I believe that I can create whatever I want to create. If I can put my head on it right, study it, learn the patterns, and — it’s hard to put into words, it’s real metaphysical, esoteric nonsense, but I feel very strongly that we are who we choose to be.”
– Will Smith
You were born to be a creator of reality; not a responder to it. You were born with the power to shape it, customize it, and create it according to your changing desires.
Thoughts become actions, actions become habits, habits become our character, and character shapes our destiny.
“The good news is that the moment you decide that what you know is more important than what you have been taught to believe, you will have shifted gears in your quest for abundance. Success comes from within, not from without.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
A belief is just a thought that you’ve allowed yourself to think over and over again. Eventually, it becomes imprinted in your subconscious mind like a groove in a well-traveled road.
The good news is that your own personal experience with applying the Law of Attraction will show you that some of your longest held beliefs – such as a belief in hard work, sacrifice, and scarcity – are out of alignment with the way our universe is governed.
“The imagination is a dream factory of which realities are a by-product.”
– Richard Wilkins
Imagining your ideal future vividly enough that you can see it clearly in your mind, is the first important step towards its realization.
The second step is developing the ability to viscerally connect with this vision so that you experience in your body what it will feel like when this future vision comes to fruition.
And the third step is learning to expect that this future is right now in the process of unfolding.
“Our job is not to figure out the ‘how’. The ‘how’ will show up out of the commitment and belief in the ‘what.’”
-Jack Canfield
Long before we create an external relationship with anything in this tangible, physical universe, we have an energetic relationship with it.
This includes all your thoughts, your beliefs, the meaning you have assigned to your past experiences, the conclusions you have come to, the words you speak, the choices you make, and the way that you feel in the privacy of your own heart and mind.
Focus on nurturing the inner relationship with the “what” that you desire, and allow the universe to take care of the “how.”
“Your life is right now! It’s not later. It’s not in that time of retirement. It’s not when the lover gets here. It’s not when you’ve moved into the new hours. It’s not when you get the better job. Your life is right now. It will always be right now. You might as well decide to start enjoying your life right now because it’s not ever going to get better than right now – until it gets better right now!”
– Esther Hicks
Your biggest role in the process of deliberate creation is to remain sensitive to how you feel on a moment to moment basis.
Are your thoughts and emotions in alignment with the money you want to create, for example, or are they creating an energy that is resistant or disallowing?
What is the vibration that you are emitting into the universe? If it feels good, you know you’re on the right track.
“To create reality, focus beyond the outcome, as if it has already happened.”
– Gregg Braden
To focus beyond the outcome is to deliberately conjure the feeling of having already achieved whatever it is we desire.
If it’s financial prosperity you’re after, for example, appreciate and acknowledge the ways in which you are already abundant, and you will build an entirely different type of momentum toward the prosperity you seek.
“Vision: the art of seeing things invisible.”
– Jonathon Swift
We all have the ability to “see the invisible,” and we access this state by connecting with the essence of whatever vision we are working toward.
When the outcome exists for us not as a distant goal or as a state of being we’ll achieve once we produce the result, but as a living frequency that is already part of us, all things that support the fulfillment of our vision are drawn to us.
“We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are.”
– Anais Nin
Applying the Law of Attraction comes down to one very simple choice: Choose to feel good; choose to look for the good in others and in yourself, and exercise this power of choice no matter what is going on around you. No one else can think your thoughts for you; no one else can “make you” feel a certain way, and therefore no one besides you can set your point of attraction.
“No matter how hard things were, tomorrow’s a fresh opportunity to make it better.”
–Richard Dott
It truly doesn’t matter what you have created in the past, because today – this moment – is always brand-new.
What you do with it, and the moment-by-moment vibration you offer as you focus on each important aspect of your life will chart the course for all the moments that follow.
Focus more on your desire than on your doubt, and the dream will take care of itself. You may be surprised at how easily this happens. Your doubts are not as powerful as your desires, unless you make them so.”
-Marcia Wieder
Anytime your doubts are looming larger than the clarity, strength, and intensity of your desire, know that this is simply an opportunity for you to refine your vibration.
If you are noticing some condition in your life that is not yet as you would like it to be, you can let that discourage you, or you can remind yourself that just like all things, this condition is in the process of becoming.
And you are the one with the highest degree of influence over that becoming because you are the one who is offering your point of attraction.
“You can ask the Universe for anything you desire. Nothing is out of reach. Nothing is too big or too small. Don’t let fear stop you from asking, or limit you from asking for everything you want. The world is your oyster and you are its pearl.”
– Jim Carrey
Whatever it is you desire, that desire would not have been born within you if you didn’t also have the potential to fulfill it.
The very fact that you can think about and feel the presence of this new desire means that it’s possible for you to create it in this abundant universe.
Even though in our minds we can’t see the possibility, if there is a desire, there is also a way.
“Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality.”
– Earl Nightingale
In every given moment, the vibration that is most dominant within us is being broadcasted at an invisible level to everyone and everything around us, and this vibration is attracted to and becomes aligned with anything else that is vibrating at that particular frequency.
Once you come to know and understand this, you realize very quickly how important it is to offer your vibration deliberately.
“There is a truth deep down inside of you that has been waiting for you to discover it, and that truth is this: you deserve all good things life has to offer.”
-Rhonda Byrne
All that you desire already exists. It does not need to be created, and you do not have to earn your right to experience it through struggle or hard work.
You have only to acknowledge that abundance is your natural state, and you are innately worthy of it.
“In the same way that a magnet is attractive to steel, we draw into our lives energy that resonates at a similar frequency to our own.”
– Christy Whitman
Mastery of your own vibration is the key to everything.
Once you really get it in your bones that everything that comes into your experience is being orchestrated by the energy you are sending out – and realize that you are in complete control of your own energy – you really start to feel invincible.
“Once you decide what it is that you want and begin to vibrate from that place, you absorb and internalize the feeling of already having manifested it. The rest is just watching it show up.”
– Harrison Klein
Behind every desire, big or small, is a longing to experience a certain feeling. This feeling is the essence of your desire.
To identify this essential feeling, all you need to do is ask yourself, “Why do I want it? What do I hope to experience in the having of it?”
Bring yourself in thought, mood and expectation in alignment with this vibrational essence and watch as the evidence of that vibration manifests all around you.
“By allowing yourself to swell up with that gratitude, you open up doorways along your path. Synchronicity comes into play and people show up in your life that bring you to places that are truly unimaginable to you in the present moment.”
– John Burgos
The energy of appreciation is one of the highest frequencies in the Universe, and as such, it moves or vibrates at a much faster speed than the energy of frustration, for example.
To witness the desired outcome manifest at lightning speed, allow yourself to feel genuine gratitude for all that you already are, and everything you have already created.
“The outer conditions of a person’s life will always be found to be harmoniously related to his inner state… Men do not attract that which they want, but that which they are.”
–James Allen
When we change the energy we are offering in any situation, we change the way everything around us responds to us. Everything in nature, from human beings to houseplants, is responsive to energy.
“The trouble with happiness is people don’t practice it.”
–Paul McKenna
The way you feel about yourself in the privacy of your own heart and mind is what the universe is responding to. Not your words, or even your actions.
You can pretend to be confident all you want, but it’s like putting a smiley face on top of a gas gauge that’s on empty! It’s the energy you convey; the vibration you give off, that Law of Attraction is responding to.
When you understand this, it’s easy to see just how important it is to hold an image of yourself that is in alignment with what you are now wanting to create.
“Richness is not about what you have. It is about who you are.”
– Bob Proctor
The universe is always listening – not to what we’re saying, but to who we are being. The mood or energy we carry with us is an all-powerful communicator. To increase the flow of prosperity (and all other wanted experiences) into your life, practice the art of being prosperous.
Allow this energy to inform the way you move; the way you speak, and the choices you make. All tangible manifestations originate in the unseen world of energy.
Begin offering your energy on purpose, and notice the different ideas, experiences, and results that come about as a result.
“You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
–Martin Luther King, Jr.
You’ve no doubt heard the saying, If you want to make God laugh, tell him (or her:) your plans. Planning appeals to our intellect, which is always seeking security and control.
But when you think about the most magical moments of your life, you will discover that they occurred spontaneously, organically, and in response to inspiration or an impulse.
Making a plan for how you’re going to achieve everything you desire is really the long way of going about creation. Quieting your mind, looking for the best in each situation, and following your hunches is the fast track.
“The experience of contentment, abundance, and satisfaction is the only doorway through which more contentment, abundance and satisfaction can enter.”
– Christy Whitman
Appreciation for who and where and how much you right now create the opening for more to come through. If you don’t open the door, what you want can’t get in. It really is that simple.
“The meaning of everything is the meaning you give it, and your experiences are what you say they are.”
– David Cameron Gikandi
It’s not just our moment to moment perception of what’s going on around us that we have the power to choose; we can also decide which of our past experiences to keep active and alive within us.
Sift through the memories of your life; pull out the ones that feel the best, and allow those feelings to become the basis of your point of attraction.
“Follow your bliss and the Universe will open doors where there were walls.”
– Joseph Campbell
What is the value, really, in cultivating a good-feeling mood? In a word, it’s everything.
Emotionally and energetically speaking, the best possible place we can stand in order to manifest anything we want is to be satisfied with where we are in the moment, while also looking forward to all that is in the process of unfolding in the future.
The experience of contentment, abundance, and satisfaction is the only doorway through which more contentment, abundance and satisfaction can enter. In other words, you feelings matter – a lot.
“We can always choose to perceive things differently. You can focus on what’s wrong in your life, or you can focus on what’s right.”
-Marianne Williamson
Research has now proven that optimists enjoy better health, greater happiness, and more success in life than do pessimists. And luckily, the secret to becoming an optimist is simple:
Allow your past successes, not your failures, to become the focal point of your thoughts. In time you will create a momentum of thought that is unstoppable.
“To bring anything into your life, imagine that it’s already there.”
– Richard Bach
As children, we used our imagination in the way it was intended – to dream and to take pleasure in the dreaming. In sharp contrast, most adults engage their imagination to conjure worst-possible-scenarios.
You have already experienced the physical and emotional stress that occurs when you use imagination to indulge fear and worry… Just think how much you could benefit by using it consciously.
“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
– Einstein
No matter the circumstances we were born into, we are all born with the gift of free will, which means we are the only ones with the power to determine our perception. You will find evidence to support whatever you are determined to see.
Therefore, it is in your best interest to look for what is beautiful, perfect, miraculous and pleasurable.
“Just as a seed grows with the warmth of the sun, so our positive qualities grow when we put our attention on them.”
-Arielle Ford
In every person and every situation – in every particle of this universe, in fact – we can find aspects that we love and aspects that we hate.
The aspects we focus on with the most consistency are the ones that ultimately dominate in our experience.
The more attention you give to a person’s positive qualities, the more noticeable they will become to you.
“You cannot perceive what you are not in the vibration of.”
– Bashar-Darryl Anka
While you may appear – to yourself and to others – as solid and material, you are in fact made entirely of energy and vibration.
Your energy is always in motion; your vibration is ever-changing, and the frequency that is you is constantly being communicated to the Universe at Large.
Know that because you have the power to determine your own frequency, you can literally affect everything that comes into your life experience.
What you choose to focus on will expand.
I hope these Law of Attraction quotes, offered by some of the most respected luminaries in the field of expanding consciousness, have helped to dispel some of the mystery and confusion that surround the forces of resonance, energy, frequency, vibration, and attraction that are at work all around us.
Though invisible to the eye, these forces are not only very real; they are enormously powerful.
Know that you have the power to choose who you be, and therefore, to alter your point of attraction, in each changing moment, and in so doing, to create and recreate your reality in as many ways as you desire.
