There aren’t many things in life that one can consistently count on. In fact, as the old adage tells us, change is the only constant.
Unfortunately, the very idea of an upcoming change – even if we sense that it will be a change for the better – can evoke a huge wave of resistance within us. Immediately our minds start racing, not with images of all the possible ways our lives could improve, but with worst-case scenarios of all that we stand to lose and everything that could go wrong.
In today’s Quantum Success Show, I am excited to bring back one of my favorite guests, Adam Markel, an expert in the integration of creating business success and personal transformation. Adam is the author of Pivot: The Art and Science of Reinventing Your Career and Life, whose work has been featured in Fox News, Newsday, The New York Post, The Wall Street Journal and more.
In today’s segment, Adam shares the steps to a process he calls pivoting, which helps us to embrace change as a catalyst for our continued growth and evolution, rather than instinctively relating to it as something to be resisted or feared.
Whether in business, in love, or in relation to our own health and wellbeing, life continually demands that we “up our game.” If we are not actively innovating new solutions and summoning new resources that fuel each important area of our lives, we simply won’t move forward toward our personal and professional goals. If our goal is only to maintain the status quo, we will eventually find ourselves in the midst of a backslide.
Our life’s experiences will never, ever stop inspiring new desires within us. The moment we reach the next summit we’re aspiring to, our vision is expanded and we are suddenly aware of more possibilities than we previously knew were possible. If we are to cooperate with the ongoing process of evolution that we are all engaged in, we simply must make peace with change. Today’s segment will show you how.
