When it comes to your happiness and abundance in life, perspective is absolutely everything.
Why?
Because what you experience as the reality of your daily life is created, by you, from within. Everything you manifest or don’t manifest in your life flows directly from the way you perceive things.
Our moment-to-moment experience is the direct result of our perception. So, whether we’re feeling inspired or depressed; blessed or burdened, is not the product of the circumstances we find ourselves in.
In reality, our happiness has nothing to do with the behavior of those around us. But it has everything to do with the way we are choosing to perceive the people and circumstances around us.
When you really understand just how powerful your perspective is, you will never feel like a victim again. Or, if you do, you’ll very quickly be able to put yourself back into the driver’s seat of your own life.
These 3 principles will help you to embody the universal principle that perspective is everything:
Principle #1: Perception equals reality.
This may sound like a big statement, so let’s break it down.
Your perspective – meaning, the way you choose to look at things – directly impacts every dimension of your being. It influences your mood, your attitude, your expectations, your beliefs, your thoughts, your emotions, and ultimately, your actions. And of course, your actions determine the results and outcomes you create.
It’s like a domino effect. The last domino to fall represents the results you create or don’t create in your life. But that whole sequence of events starts with the way you’re perceiving whatever situation you currently find yourself in.
So for example, if you perceive that your co-workers are critical or unaccepting of you, this perception will directly impact your mood. Depending on how you’re wired, this perception may lead you to feel defensive, defeated, or sad. Or you might feel indignant, angry, determined to win their approval, or a whole other range of other moods and emotions.
This mood or emotion then influences your thoughts, and your habitual thoughts harden into beliefs. And all of this affects the actions you take or are too afraid or discouraged to take.
And so, this entire cascade of reactions – what we call the process of creation – begins with your perception. Perception is everything because it affects every stage of manifestation that comes after it.
Principle #2: There are two primary perspectives available in every moment.
As human beings, we are born with the gift of free will. Which means we can choose to look at life through our human eyes, or through the eyes of the divine.
Our human perspective is often one of limitation, constriction, scarcity, and pessimism. This is because all of us have had painful or contrasting experiences in our lives that left impressions on us, psychologically and energetically. And at any moment in time, we can choose to view our present reality through the lens of our past wounding. And when we do, possibilities shrink, we feel terrible, and the world looks like a hostile place.
But when we choose to view life through the eyes of the universal intelligence that creates and sustains all things, an entirely different picture of reality is revealed.
The divine perspective is always looking for possibilities and solutions.
It sees the opportunities and resources that are always a part of whatever situation we find ourselves in.
When we consciously look through the perspective of the divine, we become a magnet for all cooperative energies, ideas, and resources that can support our greatest joy.
The final principle to help you embrace that perspective is everything is this:
Principle #3: You have the power to choose your perception on purpose.
The circumstances you find yourself in do not have to control the way you feel. Rather, you have the power to affect your own mood and attitude by deliberately choosing your perspective.
In any moment, you can make the choice to bring into yourself a higher, more hopeful vibration. You can make an effort to view any situation from a more positive vantage point. In every moment, you have the power to decide between giving into fear or choosing faith.
A great way of immediately shifting your perspective is to ask yourself, “What would love to have happen in this situation?” or, “What can I find to appreciate about this situation as it exists right now?”
By virtue of the direction of your focus, you’re either nourishing your fears or your desires.
And when you realize you’re more aware of what you don’t want than what you do, deliberately recalibrate your focus.
Engaging the power of your perspective takes a little practice, and it takes a little discipline to not automatically give in to thoughts of lack or scarcity. But the more you play with shifting your perspective on purpose, the more powerful of a deliberate creator you will know yourself to be.
