To manifest your desires in a way that will bring you true satisfaction, it’s not enough to simply identify what you want. You must go deeper and ask yourself, “Why do I want this?” And then, place the majority of your focus on your why. Focusing on your why is what summons powerful manifestational energy.
Going Deeper Than the “What”
Chances are, what you desire is fairly easy to define; it’s logical and linear. For example, if you feel your present house is not large enough for your growing family, you desire a bigger one. In this case, “a bigger house” is your what.
Your “why” is the invisible, internal component of your desire. And from an energy summoning standpoint, it is infinitely more powerful. Your why reflects the quality of energy you are hoping to gain access to once your desire is fulfilled. And it’s also a reflection of the person you desire to become.
Focusing on Your Why Reveals the Person You Want to Be
As you contemplate something you desire to create – be it something material or intangible – ask yourself this question: “What kind of person could easily create this?”
What you will begin to uncover are universal qualities – such as focused, charismatic, clear-minded, resolved, self-loving, or generous. These latent qualities, or energies, are within you right now, just waiting to be accessed and expressed. And your desires are guiding you toward the full realization of these untapped aspects of yourself.
The manifestation short-cut that most people are missing is this: You don’t have to wait until your desire is fully realized in order to begin embracing these qualities! You can be the person you want to be and begin focusing on your why, right now.
Deconstructing Your Desires
Behind every desire – big or small, material or intangible, superficial or deep – is a longing to experience a certain feeling.
Call forth something you want to create in your life right now. Maybe it’s to meet your soulmate, transform your body, experience more success in your career, or make more money. What you will discover that the underlying reason you want any of these things is because you believe having them will make you feel a certain way.
As you ponder the object of your desire, see if you can identify the essence of how it will feel to have created it. What does it feel like to be living and walking and breathing and expressing yourself in your ideal, healthy body? How does lavish abundance feel, and what does it give you access to? What emotions come naturally to you as you awaken to a new day in your dream house? Does it feel like freedom, satisfaction, or complete well-being? Conjure these feelings often, for they are the essence of your desire, and will help you to focus on your why.
Engaging the Power of Your Unconscious Mind
Our conscious minds think logically, sequentially, and linearly. They help us to plot a course from where we are to where we want to be. But emotion, not logic, is the force that moves our spirit and inspires us into action.
Going beyond what you desire and focusing on your why helps you tap the enormous power of your unconscious mind. This part of your psyche doesn’t think in words. It speaks the language of pictures and emotions.
The deeper answer to “why” you desire a bigger house, for example, goes far beyond square footage. There is an energetic and emotional payoff you believe you’ll receive once this goal is realized.
Perhaps you believe you’ll experience a feeling of pride or satisfaction. Maybe you’re seeking a feeling of serenity or freedom.
These deeper “whys” drive our actions. And by focusing on your why, deliberately and consistently, you keep yourself in alignment with all you desire to create.
As human beings, we’re born with the power to decide where, how, and on what to direct the power of our focus. And where and how we direct our focus has everything to do with the version of reality that we experience and create. Focus on your why and live as though you have already created your desire. Your outer circumstances will fall into alignment with your energy. This is the formula for the creation of all things.
