There is a direct correlation between your power of focus and how quickly you manifest your desires.
To give you a visceral experience of just how important your power of focus is, consider this scientific fact:
We live within an infinite, ever-changing sea of energy and information. In fact, neurologists tell us that our senses gather some 11 million bits of data from the environment around us – in every single second of our waking lives!
Within this sea of data, every possible reality exists in a state of potentiality. But what determines whether these possibilities remain in their potential state, or whether they’ll blossom into full-blown manifestation? It all comes down to our power of focus.
Your Focus Determines Your Reality
Your focus – which is to say, where, how and on what you direct your energy – is the most powerful resource you have. It’s like a beam of light that illuminates and clarifies some realities while leaving others undefined and unrealized. Your power of focus determines whether you generate upward momentum or downward spirals. It can guide you toward open doors and green lights, or lead you down a road of detours and dead ends. When you’re not manifesting your desires as quickly as you’d like, know that you have the power to change this. By changing your focus, you change everything.
Here are 3 energy mastery principles to support you in more masterfully directing your power of focus:
Focus Principle #1: Pay attention to your internal guidance system.
You are a highly sensitive energy transmitter and receiver that is connected to the very intelligence of the universe. Please take a moment to really think about this!
You are an intimate, integral part of All-That-Is. And the same energy that keeps the earth rotating around the sun governs the in and out of your breath.
You were born with a highly sensitive guidance system that lets you know in every moment whether you are locked-on to this signal of wellbeing. When you are, you feel amazing. Inspired. Guided. Protected. Loved…. And focused in the direction of all that you desire and deserve.
And when, for whatever reason, you have introduced some static into your connection with universal intelligence, your guidance system lets you know this as well. In those moments, you feel doubtful, fearful, confused, and unsure. And you’re acutely aware of all the obstacles that seem to stand between you and the outcomes you desire.
Some experts will tell you to push through those moments, and to “fake it ‘til you make it.”
But when you understand the power of focus, you realize that exerting effort in moments of disconnection only amplifies the struggle.
So, instead, use your internal guidance system in the way in which it was designed. Whenever you’re feeling misguided or uninspired, make it your priority to feel better before jumping into action. The following practices will help you shift your focus.
Focus Principle #2: Focus forward, on what you want, not on what you’ve currently got.
You only have so much bandwidth, so to speak, in every given moment. If your attention is focused on problems, you can’t simultaneously be open to their solutions. If you’re fixated on competition or scarcity, you’ll see others as threats, not potential collaborators.
As Albert Einstein so brilliantly said, “The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.” And this vitally important decision comes down entirely to your power of focus.
When we’re viewing ourselves or life in general through a perspective of lack, it’s impossible to be connected to universal intelligence. And when we’re disconnected from this powerful stream, our desires do not manifest easily.
Think about it: Can you be inspired when you’re focused on limitations or reliving past failures? Is the energy of clarity available to you when you’re viewing others as adversaries?
We simply cannot dwell on any current problem and simultaneously attract its solution. We have to make a choice: Focus on where we now are, or where we want to go. Give the majority of our attention to conditions that make us unhappy, or focus on the happiness we desire.
Focus Principle #3: Decide in advance who you are choosing to be, and how you desire to feel.
Those who are simply reacting to life tend to stumble into each situation, allowing their energy to move in whatever direction the wind blows. If those around them are positive and sure-footed, they tend to do well. But when they encounter negativity or poverty-thinking, they tend to go with this flow as well.
Decide to be a person who makes his or her own weather. Decide in advance who and how you want to be in each important aspect of your life, and spend some time pre-paving that desired reality. Visualize yourself as strong and clear-minded. Imagine your most beautiful and articulate qualities being expressed in every situation. You can decide in advance how you want to show up and how you want to feel. And then set yourself up to experience that in every way you can think of.
You are a multi-faceted, multi-dimensional human being! And like a kaleidoscope reveals a new picture every time it’s turned, you can access hidden resources and talents. It all comes down to deliberately applying your power of focus.
Remember that nothing in life is simply “the way it is.” Every molecule that is called into being from the universal sea of information is activated by the attention of you, the observer. If you focus on what’s missing or not turning out well, you simply perpetuate that experience. If you focus all there is to appreciate about you and your life, you start a whole new point of attraction.
